Anthropocene

Although the term has been in use by some scientists for a while there have been some recent papers calling for formal recognition of the term 'Anthropocene' to describe a new geological epoch that began with the industrial revolution. The Anthropocene epoch would thus mark the peiod where humans became a predominant geophysical force.
